Would you pledge allegiance to Mexico?
I was watching Fox Weekend Live today and one quick story really hit me hard. They had radio talk show host Chris Baker from KTRH Houston on talking about a call he recently received.
It seems that during an assembly at Velasco Elementary school in Freeport, Texas the congregated guests and parents were handed small Mexican Flags and then asked to stand and pledge Allegiance to MEXICO!
The woman who called Baker said that her husband was a three tour Vietnam Vet and was shocked! I guess they objected to being asked to swear fidelity to another country and voiced their opinion because the lady remarked how they received very disapproving looks from some of the other parents.
(It should be noted here that 65% of the students enrolled at Velasco Elementary are hispanic.)
Now, in the “holy” name of diversity, our public school systems have really gone too far. It would be fine to teach about the history of Mexico or even have a “Mexican themed” assembly or fiesta (That’s a party to those of us who are still allowed to speak english). But to ask these children to say a pledge of allegiance to the Mexican flag is ludicrous!
It was totally idiotic that public schools would try to convert our own children into little Muslims by asking them to wear hijab headscarves, read the Koran, say Muslim prayers, and celebrate Muslim holidays. All this while systematically exorcising any positive references to Christianity or it’s history in a cold an calculating manner!
I thought that was going too far but this, this is a unpatriotic as you can get! If you want to swear allegiance to Mexico, move there and become a Mexican citizen! Don’t force our elementary school age children to do it.
This mockery of the sovereignty of the United States was truly brought home 2 days later. Juan Leonardo Quintero, a 32 year old convicted felon and child molester shot Houston police officer Rodney Johnson in the head and killed him. Quintero was deported as a felon back in 1999 but slithered his way back across the border and was driving without any ID when Johnson stopped him.
With the thruway we laughingly call our southern border allowing thousands of ILLEGAL ALIENS into our country every day, how can we expect anything less? And yes, I won’t say they are “undocumented workers” or “undocumented immigrants” or any of the other euphemisms that the politically correct crowd like using. I'll call them exactly what they are, ILLEGAL and ALIEN to this country.
So you have to ask yourself this question. Will you now stand and say the Pleadge of Allegiance to the Mexican flag?
