Chronic Fatigue, Heat Exhaustion, Sun Stroke... and You!
Well, here it is ... Tuesday. I know the last thing I promised was a Saturday posting of a doting grandpa’s tales of his grandson. I guess I missed my deadline, huh?
To tell you the truth I’ve had neither time nor energy to write until this evening. Friday, although wonderful, was exhausting! Chasing Brandon around and playing games with a one-year-old all day is a lot of work. First thing when his grandma left for work that Friday morning I decided to count the number of times I had to jump up and “attend” to my bubba boy. By the end of the day I was pleasantly surprised that it only amounted to 11! (Somehow I thought it’d be more like in the hundreds.)
Saturday morning was taken up with getting up at 4 am and going to work at 5:30 for 4 1/2 hours then coming home, cleaning, mowing and edging two lawns and cleaning the Easy-Set pool before the family got here to celebrate my daughter-in-law's birthday. Between four grandchildren, and three children the rest of the day really took it out of me too. (Maybe I have Chronic Fatigue Syndrome?) We finished off the day with a lively round of Lord of The Rings Monopoly. (My wife Linda won.)
Then came Sunday. We don’t want to talk about Sunday! Just imagine a 12 hour day, all of it in the direct sunlight, trying to get a friend's car running so she could go to her first day of class on Monday. Here I think I can add Sun Stroke to the Chronic Fatigue for the way I felt.
Monday of course came early with the alarm going off at 4 am so that I could work from 5:30 till 4. (In a carpentry shop that is not air conditioned!) And since I hadn’t fully recovered from Sunday yet, Monday we added Heat Exhaustion to my list of maladies. So writing on Monday night was out.
Which brings us to Tuesday, and all this writing after THIS 10 hour work day, has left me quite tired.
