The Times they are a Changin'
Well, the world is finally here in hell.
We've made the rather long trip in our little hand basket in a surprisingly short amount of time. What saddens me the most is that I can no longer say "The world is going to hell in a hand basket." I have to say "The world has gone to hell." So instead of making me sound like a prophet that is going along for the ride, I sound like an old coot that is looking back on his life an griping.
Just take a look at the sorry state of affairs we've let this wonderful planet slip into:
Aberrant sexual practises have not only been made to be viewed as "normal" but they have been foisted on the rest of us as laudable. At one time being a deviant was something people tried their best to hide, now we celebrate it in popular culture and even let people with such proclivities host movie awards shows!
We've made the teaching about, or even mentioning, the name of Jesus a criminal offense in public spheres like education and government. Christians are viewed as abnormal instead of the norm.
Core values and absolute truth have been replaced by situational ethics and the "Everyone can do their own thing. Your morals are just as good as mine." mentality.
More people know what Britteny Spears did last week than can name the Vice President of the United States.
Anna Nicole Smith's tragic death and subsequent soap opera style custody battles (over her baby girl AND EVEN her body!) take up more of the news than world events.
We have fifth column "Chamberlains" declaring "peace in our time" by entertaining the idea of cutting off funding for our troops in a time of war.
We have a complicit and liberal mass media that spins all the spoon feed news to the public to make conservative views look ridiculous and the liberal slant to be the norm by skilled use of "The Big Lie" technique. (Coined in Nazi Germany - If you tell a lie often enough and loud enough, people will eventually believe anything)
We teach our children that the lie of "evolution" is real while all the scientific evidence disproves it daily. (Thereby telling our kids that we are all just animals, so go ahead and live by the law of the jungle, shoot your classmates!)
We disrespect men in society and do not venerate the position of fatherhood. (When was the last time you saw a Dad on T.V. that wasn't the stupidest one on the show?)
We redistribute earnings to the point of criminality, giving incentives to abuse the system and dis-incentives to actually WORK for a living.
We have slipped so far in censoring foul language and content from our popular entertainment ( T.V., movies, video games) that what was disgraceful only a few short years ago is now commonplace.
And speaking of video games, can't we all agree by now that it is a PROVEN FACT that violent video games desensitizes the youth and fosters more violent behaviors!
And probably the scariest thing is we are seriously talking about a woman, who is a liberal, violent tempered, mean, conniving, opportunistic, coat tail riding, lying, manipulative, socialist, who is also an attorney and a U.S. Senator from a state she didn't live in or grew up in, actually being elected to be President of the United States!
